Alberto Castellanos
is a Colombian/American artist who lives in
Tampa,
Florida. In 1985, Alberto began to exhibit his
Art in private and public

Artist Statement
For all that can be said, a
drawing or a painted picture is a whole story in
itself.
The motives for painting or
drawing, and the inspiration are so unique to
each individual that the creativity for doing it
are endless. My motives are straight forward.
What I want to attain is that fleeting moment or
that split second that my attention is caught by
a subject. Beginning the painting, I begin a
search for what and why the subject attracted me.
As I develop the painting I continue that search,
further refining the subject and looking inside
myself for the answer, the inspiration of true
completion.
Each subject is different in it's
own way. Like a play, whether it makes us laugh,
cry smile or just make us think of something we
had forgotten. The combination of colors, force
of lines and composition should take us to a
final conclusion, a climax.
