Welcome to the August 15 1945 Foundation
Web site.
We have been incorporated since 1988 when a group of former residents of the former Netherlands East Indies, now Indonesia, formed the association. Our membership is spread through North America, with concentrations in the Provinces of British Columbia and Ontario, Canada. Members stay in touch through a newsletter, Tempo Dulu Journal, which is published and mailed quarterly. We maintain a confidential register of all former residents of the Netherlands East Indies, who were born, or who lived there anytime up to 1950, or up to 1962 in the case of former Netherlands New Guinea, now Irian Jaya. Registrations will be kept current by an annual mailing.
Membership dues are currently $15 per year ($28. for two years) per household; the membership year runs from 1 August to 31st July.

Mission Statement:
 | The Foundation is dedicated to a commemoration of the Japanese surrender and the end of the Second World war in the Pacific, on 15th August 1945. The Foundation will fund any qualifying group's commemoration expense upon application. |
| Registrants are encouraged to become members who will receive the quarterly newsletter "Tempo Dulu Journal", and who will have all the privileges in accordance with our Bylaws. |
| Members will qualify for Support Services to the extent it is available in the member's area. |
| The Foundation desires to document personal experiences from former residents of the Netherlands East Indies, during peacetime or war, for the period ended in 1950, or 1962 as the case may be for New Guinea. The purpose for this archive is to provide a legacy of life in the Netherlands East Indies as it existed during that time. NO PUBLICATION OR REPRODUCTION WILL BE RELEASED WITHOUT THE PRIOR WRITTEN PERMISSION OF THE WRITER. |
| Members are encouraged to meet other members during social events organised locally to maintain contact with each other. |
