CHRISTOPHER'S ILLUSTRATIONS

"Life is short, Art is long"
This Latin phrase brings the Art world into perspective for me. After all, is not all that is considered Art, time tested ? Either as a visual statement of the times, or a entity unto itself, the power of Art is in it's ability to stand up over time. I drew this poster using a rapidograph pen and a steady hand. I scanned the image in RGB mode, and brought it into Photoshop. The text was formatted in Adobe Illustrator, and dragged and dropped. The flames, lips and eye shadow were colorized there. After checking in a book,"Artis Longa"should actually read "Ars Longa." The flaw can be taken as a literation.

"The Black Moon"

(A Prototype Wine Label)

The type on this label was formatted in Illustrator, and brought into Photoshop. The torn and bleached edges were actually a scan of some construction paper. The irony is, that it is doubtful that Merlot grapes are grown in the Salinas Valley.

"A for Art"
The letter character was orignally a scan that was diffused, pixelated and eventually embossed. The background was layered and modified, using the lasso selector. The eraser, smudge and spray tools were used to create the spider webs.
