My attempt at appreciating Emily Woof

Emily in Killer Net

Sorry the update didn't ever happen. A mini update now. She is currently starring in the ITV drama Daylight Robbery as the crazy sister of one of the characters and encourages the other characters to start robbing banks to solve their problems. I first saw Emily Woof in the film The Woodlanders and was very impressed with her acting and her beauty. Then I saw her in Killer Net, a pretty awful drama about the dangers of cybersociety; and having some spare time thought I'd create this little page.

Emily is from Newcastle, England and went to Heaton School where she played in a band. She went to Oxford University in the late 80's and got into theatre with a trilogy of productions entitled sex, sex2 and sex3. These and other productions including a Romeo & Juliet have been well received by the critics and some have been written or co-written by Emily. Emily did have one or two small roles in british television and has done a book reading on radio but has been seen by most people in The Full Monty. She has also appeared in the film Photographing Fairies, but her only leading role to date has been as the joint lead in The Woodlanders, an adaptation of the Thomas Hardy classic. Last year she starred in Killer Net on Channel 4. In April 98 she starred in the play Bullet, and in Nov-Dec 98 she played the female lead in Salome, which I had the pleasure of seeing.

More recently she starred in flop movie Velvet Goldmine. She stars as a phone sex operator who finds love in 'Fast Food' which, I think is a little indie film which bizzarely has only been released in Finland. She was also in This Year's Love, an unfunny comedy where she briefly lifts the production as a 'lesbian temptress'. Not released in the UK yet if ever is 'Passion' a biopic of Percy Grainger. I don't know of any other current or future roles for though I did read that someone was working with her on a production of Wedekind's Lulu. I don't know if that is ever going to come to anything or not though.
