ENEMY AS TEACHER
This workshop, led by Hal Robinson and Kathleen Hudson, is an application of spirit medicine for healing body-mind-spirit. Unlike other workshops, this experience is for those who are beyond “why” and wish to experience “how.” This workshop is “in the water,” not thinking about the water.
Both Hal and Kathleen have many years experience both working with groups and learning from groups. Both bring experience in creating possibility within the circle. Hal uses training in the movement of energy and use of spirit nature. Kathleen will create an opportunity to manifest the outcome of this training. Together they will provide the opportunity for each participant to experience the possibility of seeing the enemy as teacher in a way that can provide assistance and growth in this journey we call life. This is the native people's way to the warrior's path.
“I could not place a great enough value on my work with Hal Robinson using the model, `The Enemy as Teacher.' Much more than `talk' therapy, this method quickly illuminated the roots of my limiting behaviors, and became a vehicle for a substantial shift in perception…a shift that has given me a new and freeing awareness. There are no words. There is only freedom.” -Paula D'Arcy
Hal Robinson became a certified gestalt therapist in 1973 from a joint program of the L.A. Gestalt Institute in California and the Gestalt Growth Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Since 1997, he has run a private practice in Kerrville, Texas. He is also the program director of the Healing Arts Center with Janet Chene, M.D. Every year he takes training and provides training in Native American medicine, spirit medicine and plant medicine, complimentary and alternative medicine, shamanic journey and healing, yoga and meditation. Hal is also a bear clan spirit walker.
Kathleen Hudson has taught for 35 years, and is presently one of the most innovative and beloved professors at Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas. She is the author of the oral history, Telling Stories, Writing Songs: An Album of Texas Songwriters, director of the Texas Heritage Music Foundation, and producer of Living History Day: Another Way of Learning, Using Stories and Songs. Her training includes Past is Prologue, Landmark Education, Situational Leadership, Eric Jensen and Brain-based Learning. She lead seminars and workshops devoted to “the power of stories in our lives.”
Requirements: If this appeals to you, you know the spirit pathway. Using group activities, writing, exploring, reflecting, drawing, we will be able to create the next possibility for our lives. After many years of workshops, we see the “high” disappear and we go to seek again. By the end of this workshop, each participant will create a “way to remember” the journey, a physical guidebook that recreates the experience for us.
When: Wed. March 10, 2004--Sunday March 14 at breakfast
Location: San Miguel de Allende, cultural and artistic center in Guanajuato, Mexico, provides the perfect setting for this healing work. Home to many creative people manifesting their lives, this jewel of Mexico can provide the doorway to new experiences, growth and healing in all forms. Follow the winding cobblestone streets through the walled city only to return and discover yourself for the first time.
Supplies: Bring paper, map colors, pens, a small journal, hiking shoes, comfortable clothing, cameras (op.), drum and rattles (or purchase in Mexico) and an open heart for this journey.
Price: $1500, includes lodging, workshop fees, breakfast, field trip to Charco Ingenio (a botanical garden and spiritual place). Does not include travel, lunch and dinner.
“We will end all our exploration by returning to where we started and know the place for the first time.” T.S. Eliot
