"What shall i think when I am called
to die?
Shall i not find
too soon
my life has ended
the years,
so swiftly passing by, with so little done
of all
that I'd intended"...
The above lines, from a Poem written by an anonymous young English soldier as he lay dying of his wounds,
(shortly after Singapore fell to the Japanese during WW2, and recorded in "The Valley of The Kwai" by British Captain Earnest Gordon) came to haunt me daily, as i began to awaken from the cult induced stupor i lived in for nearly 14 years.......

PurplePoet'sBabySteps
Welcome to the PurplePoet'sBabySteps web site.
Poetry has been a very important influence in my life. Mulling over words
from the Bible, T.S.Elliot, Bob Dylan and several others has produced an
almost egg-hatching, cocoon-splitting experience for me several times, as
concepts that i had never dreamed of before slowly took shape in my life,
changing me form the thing i was so ashamed of, so bewildered by, into a
completely New Creature.
i'll be sharing some of my Poetry, other writings, and Poetry by others,
that have been an encouragement to me, or an avenue that led to a new level of
thought for me......... One of my all time favorite quotes is attributed to
Bertrand Russell "Most people would rather die than think, and most people
do." When i look around at our world today and see the way the teachings of
Jesus have been handled by most of the self-appointed so-called Christian
leaders of our time, i often feel discouraged that we Christians as a group have
made so little progress at becoming "one" in the way Our Lord called us to be.
i certainly do not claim to "Know-It-All", as i did for so many years
when i existed in a cult's mental vacuum, but i have learned a bit along the
way,and for one reason or another, i feel driven to try to share the changes i've
gone through on the way to this wonderful New Life i have found, and am
finding still. i am quite open to opposing views, i have learned and continue
to learn much from others. Send me a note of correction to help me on my
way still farther, i will be blessed........
"Instruct a wise man and he will be wiser still." Solomon said that..........
