Me
| |
My name is Bo Persson or "Bosse". | I am graduated from Lund University and hold an B.A. in Humanities, majoring in Art History. My final work was a documentation about "Atelier Chic" and the owner and creator Miss Olga Hansson a fashion in Lund. My passion in life is the history of ladies fashion.I am a self-learned expert on ladies fashion 1740-80, 1850-80 and 1950s.I am seriously planning to start to study for an M.A. in History of Textile and Dress at Winchester School of Art at the end of year 2001. I have studied ethnology too because I am interested in how the upper classes spent their lives in the middle of the 18th and 19th centuries. That have led me to "Sllskapet Gustafs Skl" in Stockholm who recreates the life in Stockholm during the 18th century. In France I am member of"Carnet de Balls" who arrange 1850-60s balls in and around Paris and finally "Les Amis du Second Empire" who recreate the life at the court of Emperor Napolon III and Empress Eugnie. This is not enought! I collect books and videos too. I love to travel around Europe and attend balls and events. I am working on creating an european network for people who share the love of being costumed. What is special with me is it isnt enough for me to read and look about fashion, I want to "feel" it to. I want to know how it works. The photo at right shows me dressed in my swedish court dress. It is a reproduction of the costume King Gustavus III of Sweden invented in 1780 and more or less forced the nobility at court to dress in. Soon my second costume will be ready. It may sound weired but I have a passion for full skirts. I adore the femininity a skirt supported by crinolines (american) and hoopskirts gives women. That is why I have a passion for the 1850s-60s and 1950s. Beside fashion history I am playing golf. I love antiques, sailing, opera, classical music, travelling and some more things.
