Home Page Update
First off, check out the ShockWave. Pretty nice, eh? Well, I got Macromedia Flash 3 (legally of cource) and I mastered it in a couple days. Hence, I whipped this up. The whole Venn Diagram idea was by Richard Merrit.
Well, I see that stupid FortuneCity slapped their little banner on here. It pisses me off too. If you have some server space for Harold and his little buddys, please contact me. I don't know what I can offer you, but please consider it.
I took off the JavaScript folder tree thing. It kept glitching, and I just didn't feel like fixing it. Therefore, I took it off. I think the ShockWave movie replaces, if not surpasses, it.
Harold-A-Bowl
Harold-A-Bowl is an upcoming addition to the Harold Project. Harold-A-Bowl is being made in Borland C++ Builder instead of the usual Visual Basic. This means smaller executible size. Which means, more graphics, more sounds, and better game play. Matt Robinett is leading the path. He is creating the graphics, code, basically the entire game. From what I have seen so far, it is going to be great. Now (8-9-98), he has 3D Harold, 3D (sorta) pins, and the lane. It is playable, but there is no objective. You can expect it to be posted by the end of this month. If you would like to be alerted when this happens, please contact me.
Harold-A-Quest
You like RPGs? I hate them, that's why I am making my own. I only have the first level made. I stole the evil villians from Zelda (Hello, lawsuit). Basically, you run around and kill enemys to get a key which takes you to the next level. I know, sounds sucky. I promise you, it will get better. If you have any idea or thoughts to go into it, contact me. You will get credit for your contributions.
3D Harold
I got trueSpace 3 (yes, legally). I almost blew a hole in my shorts, because of it's superiority over it's tag alongs 3D Studio Max, LightWave, and trueSpace 2. The reason? Of many, the greatest is it's dynamic capabilities. Instead of drawing a path of a ball bouncing, you put in it's gravity, elasticity, etc. and let it rip. Any ways, I was messing around with it and modeled a 3 Dimensional Harold. It looks great.
Now, here's is the plan: I am going to create alot of AVIs (animations) for each of the scenes. Therefore, he will be completly 3D rendered. Now, I know what you're asking: "But isn't this going to be really big?". OH YA! Figure it out, about 15 little AVIs with sound. Plus all of the existing code. I am assuming around 20MB. To defend all of you 14.4ers (myself being inclusive), I am going to make a lite or compact version. I will, in general, down the quality of everything (lower color depth on the AVIs, lower HZ on the sounds, etc.) for the smaller version. Well, I haven't even started it yet, so I would guess in about three months you could expect to see it. If any of you think this is a descent idea, and would like to see it happen, contact me. If I get enough responces (more than none), than I will put some priority on it, and could have it done in a week.

What
is Harold-A-Pet?
Harold-A-Pet is an imitation of the classic hand-held game
Giga-Pet®. Instead of an LCD matix, it has multiple "hand
drawn" frames. Version 1.2 has audio, and a Shin Dig (Where
you tell Harold each move and he animates them, making a dance.)
How
much is Harold-A-Pet?
Here's the catch. If you download Harold-A-Pet V1.2 Beta then you
have to send me an email reporting any bugs. Of course, you could
download it and not send me an Email, but that ain't cool. Other
then that it is completly FREE, therefore, give
it to all of your little buddies.
Why
should I download Harold-A-Pet?
First of all, it's FREE. Second, it is only a mere 3MB.
And just to top it all off, it is lotsa fun!
Who
is Harold?
Well, your really asking two questions there. Harold is a
fictitious character I came up with in the early years of life.
Here is a photo:
What did
you use to make Harold-A-Pet?
I used Visual Basic 4.0 Standard Edition for the actual program.
The images were made with Adobe Photoshop 4.0, and a lot of
creativity.
