Outstanding Movie! The director James Cameron, along with the ensemble of cast, featuring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio did a fantastic job in bringing the Titanic experience to the big screen, which is why I am paying this little tribute in their honor. The cost in producing the Titanic was over 200 Million dollars, therefore it became a joint venture between Paramount Pictures and Twenieth Century Fox, and it paid dividends, as it stayed on top of the charts in 1998 for a record 15 weeks, and surpassed Star Wars as the highest grossing film in the history of Movies. Titanic has created a trend, a subculture all it's own, due to the success of both the Movie and the Soundtrack. The Titanic even overwhelmed the star galla, Oscars in 1998, it received a record tying 14 Oscar Nominations, and took home a record tying 11 Oscars. The Titanic Soundtrack has been disappearing off retailers shelves and it has eclipsed some of the most successful Movie Soundtracks, like Whitney Houston's "Bodyguard" and Elton John's "Lion King." It hard to say at this point whether there will be another such phenomenon in the Movie Industry, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :)
