IBUKA-USA
MOVING Rwandan WOMEN BEYOND GENOCIDE AND SEXUAL WAR "No Woman Should Die From Sadness"
IBUKA-USA The linkage of African women throughout the Diaspora from Rwanda to Raleigh, one woman, one oppression at a time. We are constructing this site to ensure that all women understand the genocide perpetrated against the people of Rwanda and rape as a war tool used in that genocidal war. There is a fundamental connection between all women of African descent and these women. Mission Statement To tell the story of genocide against the Rwandan people through the eyes and heart of its women who defy their great sadness. IBUKA-USA is a non-profit human rights organization whose mission is to create support systems for the people of Rwanda in their survival of the 1994 genocide. IBUKA-USA will encourage the remembrance of the victims and survivors and the sharing of the burden of the reconstruction of the community and the people of Rwanda. It is our responsibility to educate and activate the activist communities in the United States and throughout the world in identifying and preventing the the use of religion, race, ethnicity, gender as power to divide people to gain absolute control over people, and these practices creates the foundation for genocide to take place We believe that every individual or group of people who is stricken by inhumane treatment and violence has a right to survival assistance from the worldwide community. We declare and affirm the worth of every human life and the right of each life to be uplifted in the face of unspeakable horror against them. We are committed to the principle that no woman who was allowed to live so that she could die from sadness will. We believe that assisting the people of Rwanda is a just and noble cause and will uplift all victims of violence, hatred, racism and supremacy. We believe that we must give voice to survivors of genocide so that every man and woman understands that a whole people will not die. Enormous efforts are needed in order to rehabilitate the country, the survivors and the victims of the genocide and prevent any situations that could result in a similar catastrophe as the one in Rwanda in 1994. The goal is that no other country in the world will have to endure such disaster. Join us in our efforts.
