This pattern required the used of two shuttles and a knowledge of Split rings.
Start with a *Catherine Wheel of 3 1/2 rings with a clover leaf (r 2-2-2-2, r 3-3-3-3-3-3, r 2-2-2-2) continuing the Catherine Wheel for another half ring.  With core thread shuttle make a ring of 2-2-2-2 reversing the order of the first and second half of the ds so that (when closed) the ring will have the “wrong side” up.  RW, with “ball” shuttle make a ring of 2-2-2-2 and a split ring of 3-3-3  LHK 3-3-3.  Cloverleaf (r 2-2-2-2, r 3-3-3-3-3-3, r 2-2-2-2) , *ch 2+2, r 2-2-2*, repeat * * once (no ch join), **ch 2+2, r 2-3-3-2**, repeat **  ** once(no ch join), chain 3+3(to edge of Catherine Wheel), repeat pattern around and join to base of clover leaf.

The Catherine Wheel is by Betty Alderson from Snowgoose and can be found in the last issue of the Knots newsletter. Instructions on how to do the wheel can also be found at the Snowgoose site in their Frivolous Frivolite section.
