QUEEN | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Queen was started in 1970 by the former Smile artists Roger Taylor, Brian May and a friend of theirs: Freddie Mercury. One year later John Deacon joined as their third bassist. And he was the one who stayed as Queen bassist until the end. Their first major hit was Killer Queen in 1974 and Bohemian Rhapsody also a major hit followed in 1975. The most famous Queen song is perhaps We Are the Champions which is made immortal as a sport-song. Queen made 20 albums from 1973 to 1991 (Made in heaven 1995) And in 1991 the world lost one of it's best musicians Freddie Mercury, the Queen vocalist. He died in his home 24. September 1991 because of AIDS. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
