Tales at Dusk...

while the sun is hiding behind the mountain...

After dinner, we sat looking at dusk and telling stories(some ours, others borrowed.) Most of them are inspired in old readings. Here are my owns.

The Last Moment of a Fly. A fly enters the cleanest and neatest house in the world. Then, tragic things happen, specially to the fly.

Dreaming America. History tells us that Queen Isabella of Castille was convinced in the last minute to support Columbus. In my version of the events, they were dreaming about America.

Squeeze! This is a story of a fight between an iguana and a serpent. It is inspired in a story of Leonardo Castellani (Camperas.)

Modern Archeology The main character here is a young American archeologist, Jane Whitebones. The little boy Shunko and his grandfather Pedro complete the cast of this story that happened in the jungle.

The Description of the Universe is very Subjective. Here is my skepticism for the new mapping of the universe, and my love for the old medieval maps.

An Uncertain War Strategy. In the little book "El Perseguidor," Julio Cortázar tells the story of one man winning over a whole army. This is my version of the way in which that could happen.

The Art of Contemplation. We used to live in a little town and one evening, after some bottles of wine we lisened to our uncle talk about contemplation. Here is what he had to say.

In the Immigration Line. (This episode may seem a little irrational, but it really happened to me. I keep all the paperwork.)
