High above the sea
and
closer to the sun,
valleys of deep pine green
where the rivers do run,

Nature in all its glory
eagles mating flying high,
they plunge to the Earth
from the cloudy blue sky.

Owls over head
spying on all who pass,
moose,
elk,
and deer
grazing in the grass.

Aspen colored mountains
and peaks of freshly scattered snow,
untouched by man
where the Star Angels do grow.

We ride into the forest
crying all the way through.
We see the desecration of life
and the ignorant do.

We ride into the forest

Clear cut ugliness
where our Mother once grew.

Tears fill our eyes
at the sight of death,
stumps of what once was
cut before their last breath.

The logging of my home
trees are falling down,
behind the chainsaws
you can hear the sound.

The silent screams of murder
fills the cool brisk air.
With every tree that falls
we will pay the fare.

Acre by acre
the green will disappear,
vast fields of loneliness,
emptiness and fear.

Walking in the forest
you can feel the pain.
When our children ask,
how will we explain.
