""Across the USA in Y2K" (95.5" by 114") Foundation pieced blocks. Machine pieced front, hand pieced backing. Hand quilted. Quiltmaker: Judith Rose Baltimore, MD Artist's Statement: "80 blocks, each with the pattern Courtney Crown in the center done with 25 swapped fabrics surrounding a signature square. In the center of the quilt is a Mariner's Compass set in Y2K fabric with gold rays reaching out to the blocks. The back is flag fabric with a block set in the center explaining the quilt. I had a wonderful feeling putting together this quilt with fabric from all over the USA. How small our very large country has become when we can touch the lives of other quilters all over the country and all over the world in this way. It was an awe inspiring experience."
