MEET THE PEBBLIES
The pebblies natural habitat is the beach at Cleveleys. No one knows quite how they got there but it is said that, during a great storm one night, lightning stuck the beach and, the next day, some of the pebbles had come to life.
As far as is known, Pebblies can only be found living wild in Cleveleys but enthusiasts have set up several breeding colonies in various parts of the country to ensure the continuation of the species.
If you visit Cleveleys, don’t expect to be able to see them frolicking at the shoreline because Pebblies are very shy creatures. However, if you sit very patiently at dawn on a spring morning, you may be rewarded with a glimpse of them.
Pebblies have a rare singing talent and their high pitched voices can often be heard on the wind. So fond are they of singing that groups of them will often join together to form rock bands.
Our pebblies have been bred in captivity and you should find them perfectly docile. In fact, they will enjoy nothing better than sitting in the palm of your hand for hours on end.
Pebblies are very self sufficient and, to care for them properly, you need do nothing more than pop them on a shelf. However, they do enjoy an annual holiday sitting in a tray of sand.
The main problem you will encounter is loneliness. Pebblies are very sociable creatures and like the company of other pebblies. Do try to provide friends for your pebbly and talk to it often.
PEBBLY ADVENTURES
This month, I have been trying to teach one of my pebblies, George, to swim. He hasn't quite got it yet but he is a brilliant diver and he has made a few new fishy friends.

Lucy Pilling of Blackpool tells us:
I have a pebbly with black hair who is called Mischief Pebbly. He is always getting into trouble. Yesterday he climbed into the rabbit's food bowl and I think he scared her. Sometimes he rolls under my bed and hides.
Well, Lucy, it seems as if you have got your hands full! Maybe your pebbly is being a bit naughty because he is bored. Try giving him a new interest or introducing him to some other pebblies. Maybe then he will stop terrorising the rabbit. To help you out, we are sending you a new pebbly (a girl) and we hope that she will be able to help you keep him in line!
COMING NEXT MONTH
Well be telling you the sad tale of Marlon Pebbly's little accident but, don't worry, it has a happy ending!
Introducing Pebbly Hearts of Stone, a matchmaking service for your Pebblies.
SERIOUS STUFF
Don't let your baby brother or sister get hold of your pebbly. They have been known to end up in little mouths and Pebblies seriously hate being sucked.
Never give out your home address to anyone on the net. There are some weird people out there. They are not all sensible like us Pebbly keepers!
