Boyzone heart-throb Ronan Keating stepped out
for his first major concert as a solo artist in Ireland last night.
The pop star, who kicked off a 17 date tour in
the UK last month, entertained more than 6,000 fans in a sell-out performance
at The Point in Dublin.
"I was nervous but I've been on the road for
the past month so it's a well-oiled machine by now," said a delighted Ronan.
"It's always great to get back and perform before
a home crowd. I'm looking forward to Belfast tomorrow too and then I'm
looking forward to putting my feet up for a couple of days," he said last
night.
He revealed his Boyzone bandmates have been really
supportive of his first solo tour.
"Mikey came to see me when I played at the Albert
Hall," he said. "And Shane and Keith flew out for the Elton John concerts
I did in Madison Square Gardens in New York."
He admitted he missed having the lads around
him on the tour. "it feels quite strange being way from the guys on the
road."
Ronan enjoyed huge success with his self-titled
debut album but his next big production will be the arrival of his and
wife, Yvonne's second baby.
A brother or sister to 18-month-old Jack is expected
in the New Year.
