Part 2: Arial

Mike finally stood and turned off the Nintendo 64. It had been hours since she woke early that morning and turned it on.

She glanced at the angel poster on the wall above her bed. "Princess..." she whispered. "I'll find you. I swear it."

Mike grabbed her roller blades and stepped out the front door of her apartment. Outside the building she slipped them on and sped down the street. The streets in this area had little traffic, so she didn't worry about accidents.

She turned a corner and came to a small blue house. It was one floor, with a driveway and porch.

"Gabriel!"

A tall, teenage boy, about 17, stepped out if the front door. He had shoulder length black hair and brown eyes. In his hand were his rollerblades. "Hola, chico!"

"I'm not a chico!"

Gabriel grinned as he pulled on his blades. "You look like one!" He laughed.

"Hey, race you to Skaters' Lane." Mike took off down the street/

"Chica! Wait up!" Gabriel sped off after her.

Mike passed Kody who was walking down the street. Mike turned and stopped in front of her. Gabriel pulled up beside Mike.

"Hey, what's up?"

Kody just glanced at Mike.

"Um, maybe you should go ahead. I'll catch up," Mike suggested to Gabriel.

"You sure?"

"Yeah."

"Ok." Gabriel turned and headed down the street. Mike looked back to Kody. "What's wrong?"

"I had that dream again," Kody said softly.

"Yeah, so did I. It really seems to get to you."

Kody nodded.

Mike hugged her. "What do you say we go get some ice cream?"

"What about Gabriel?"

"What about him?" Mike grinned and took her hand. "C'mon. Let's go."

"Alright."

**My name is Mike Norman. I'm 15 and go to high school in my freshman year. And I'm NOT a boy! Anyways, back to the point. Kody and I weren't always like this. We were spirits. Seraph and Ariel, and two others. Now we have to find the others and Sophia, but we don't know where to start. I have a feeling the enemy is getting closer. Princess, we'll find you.**

Lightning streaked through the air. Crash! The power went out in Mike's apartment. She stood and stepped out of her room, barefoot, and quietly opened the front door. It was late and she didn't want to wake her father, because then he'd ask questions she didn't want to answer. Thunder roared as she stepped outside. Something didn't seem quite right. Mike walked out onto the grass and mud. The tiny plants curled themselves around her toes. Her eyes turned an emerald green as she listened to what the earth had to say. Then those eyes grew wide. "Not now. It's too soon!"

Mike tore her feet from the earth and sprinted down the rain soaked streets. She'd have a cold in the morning, but this was much more important. She ran into Kody's backyard, and tossed a small pebble which tapped the glass balcony door. Nothing. She threw another. Then the light came on and Kody opened the door.

"What do you want?" Kody asked sleepily.

"It's Abaddon. He's close."

"What!?" Kody stepped out onto the balcony and into the rain.

"He's the one causing the storm!"

"But... he can't be! It's too soon! We haven't found the others! WE HAVEN'T FOUND SOPHIA!"

"Kody, calm down! We still have a little time."

"Mike, maybe you should come in. You'll catch a cold."

Mike climbed up the ladder leaning against the wall beside the balcony. She hopped over the rail and followed Kody inside.

"Your dad's gonna freak when he finds out you were out at midnight in the rain with no shoes."

"That's not important right now." Mike sat on the floor next to Kody's bed. Kody sighed and flopped down next to her.

"What're we gonna do?" Kody's voice was low and wavery.

"I don't know," Mike whispered as she hugged Kody. "We'll figure out something."

Kody's door creaked open. Katie poked her head inside. "Hello. I thought I heard something. What's wrong?"

"It's nothing, muchkin." Kody gave a false smile. "Go back to sleep."

"I can't sleep. Can I stay in here with you?"

Kody glanced at Mike. Mike nodded. "Sure. Come one in."

Katie quietly stepped in and closed the door behind her. She curled up in her sister's lap and soon fell asleep.

Mike stood after a while. "I should probably head home."

"No, stay. You can go home in the morning." Kody grabbed Mike's arm and tugged her back down.

"Oh, alright."

Kody moved the little girl in her lap to the bed. Mike pulled the purple covers over her shoulders. A psychic aura passed through their minds. An all too familiar feeling.

~Princess!?~

~Sophia!?~

Kody and Mike exchanged looks. Kody shook her head in disbelief, but Mike glanced down at Katie.

"It's late. Our minds are playing tricks on us." Kody pulled out two sleeping bags from under the bed. "We should try to get some sleep." She curled up in one of the sleeping bags and was soon dead to the world.

Mike sat on the other sleeping bag and stared out at the cloudy night sky.

**I know what I felt. Is it possible that out princess, Sophia, is right under our noses? I wish I could believe it, but I can't without proof. Sophia, the enemy is near. Where are you?**
