Episode 1
"Attentian all personel." The sound system cracked, like those old intercoms they used to have in the old schools. "Please report to Olympus. The God and Goddess have assignments for all important employees."
Natalie White sighed and sat up. Another day in Section 7. "Hey, Troy, wake up." She nudged the myran woman laying in the bed next to her. Natalie was a tall, thin, brownish-tan myran, with long, curly brown hair and yellow eyes. She was 23 years old.
The tall, thin and toned grey myran, just groened. She rolled over, pulling the blanket above her head.
"Troy, babe, we gottta go. Meeting's being called." Natalie softly kissed her cheek, and climbed out of bed, her nude myran body shivering in the cold early morning air. Too early for any normal person to be up, but this wasn't a normal job. She pulled on her uniform, and looked back at Troy, who was smiling at her from where she lay. Troy's green eyes flashed as she sat up.
"If I had known we would be gettig up this early, I wouldn't have had so much fun last night," Troy said as she got to her feet, wrapping the sheet around her body.
Natalie smirked. "Would you have, now?"
Troy chuckled, pullng on her uniform. "Of course not." She brushed her short, bleached-blonde hair from her face, and held her arm out to Natalie. "Ready?"
Natalie hooked her arm around Troy's. "Let's go, babe."
"Hey, Natalie. Hey, Troy." Adrian Salvador sauntered into Olympus, the main meeting room, of Section 7. Adrian was tall, toned, not muscular. He was a little feminine looking. His hair was blond, and almost as short as Troy's, his bangs hanging in his green eyes. He sat by Troy who sat by Natalie. "Any idea why we have to be up at 4 o'clock in the morning for a meeting?"
Natalie shook her head. "Not a clue."
A man cleared his voice, causing all three to look over sharply. God, Laurent Gilles, took his seat at the head of the long oval table. Goddess, Delphine Eve, took her seat at the opposite end.
They were both Draconian, people with wings, much like those angel paintings from the Renaisance. Delphine was tall, thin, but curvy. Very beautiful. Her hair was a forest green, and in a braid down to her waist. A few lose strands hung in her blue eyes. Laurent was taller than Delphine, thin, just a little muscular. His hair was white, long, and his eyes were grey.
"I'm sure you're all wondering about the early call. And you're all probably a little pissed about it too." God spoke in a deep voice, one you would think Zeus might have.
"The fact is, we have a major assignment." Goddess's voice was clear, like water, or glass. "The ARD is planning to try to take Styx very soon, and we need a new team, 5 specially selected teenagers."
"Professor White. Professor Menelaus." God shifted his gaze to Natalie and Troy. "I want you two to go to the Monroe Academy and Boarding School. There, I want you to find the five and recruit them."
Goddess turned her gaze on Adrian. "Mr. Salvador, I also want you to join them, as the gym coach. Understood?" She looked at all three. "We have made arrangements with the school for you."
"Yes, Goddess," all three spoke in unison.
"Now, go," God said, pointing towards the door. "You start today."
The three blinked, almost in unison. Today? Man, that was quick. They stood, and left. Time to get ready. You always had to be on your toes when you're in the International Bureau of Defense.
"Yogensha!"
The myran stopped, halfway down the hall. "Yes?!" Yogensha quickly turned her head and her deep, orange eyes sharply glared. They instantly softened when she realized who had called her. "Lee?" she laughed. Her cheeks blushed through her redish fur. She stroked her long, dark-red ponytail nervously. "What 'cha want, dogboy?"
Lee came to a stop and glared at her. "Where did you put my math book?" He was a tall kanid, greyish-brown in color, with short grey hair.
Yogensha made the most innocent face she could muster, her tail curling up. "Um, math book?"
"Yeah. You borrowed it. Where is it?!"
"Um... " Yogensha turned, and sprinted down the hall. Myrans are fast runners, you know.
"Hey! Get back here!" Lee ran after her. Kanids are also fast runners, but not as good agility wise. Yogensha turned a quick corner. Lee nearly skidded past, before turneing and chasing her down the hall. Too late. Yogensha ducked into her classroom, and Lee barely avoided a collision with another myran.
"Hey, kanid! Come here!" Troy, er Ms. Menelaus, looked at Lee.
Lee gulped. He was in trouble. He slowly walked over to Ms. Menelaus. "Um, yes?"
"You know the rules. No running in the building."
"But..." he pointed towards the classroom.
"No buts about it. Get to your class before you're late," she said and walked into the same class Yogensha had entered.
Lee sighed, turned down the hall, and saw Yogensha from inside her class, pointing and laughing at him. Oh, man, he'd get even. He grinned at the thought of getting even, as he walked down the hall, and into his class, just before the bell.
"I can't believe this new teacher is sooo boring!" the blue-haired girl thought to herself, her head laying on hand and eyes on Troy. With her other hand she adjusted her thin, metal-rimed glasses. She sighed and finished the thought, "But, then again, I don't have anything else really to do." She was nudged by the girl behind her, and turned. "Huh?"
The girl threw a note at her, no love lost there. Lydie, the blue-haired girl, unfolded it. The note said: "Hey Lydie, So are you excited about the big track race next week? You'll be fair game, but nothing I can't handle, heh? I bet it would be something if you won--maybe someone other than me would talk to you. But, they might even be nice to you. Anyway, I have to go. By the way--don't talk to me on the track it may ruin my rep. -Yogensha."
Lydie narrowed her brown eyes. "Bitch," she thought as she slowly folded the note. Yogensha had always had a way to make Lydie feel so bad--and disguise it as being friendly.
In the front of the class, the young teacher glanced at the clock and then decided to begin to wrap up her class. "Alright! Not to bad for a first day. And no homework." She smiled directly at the girl, getting a odd, blank look back. "Lydie, please see me after class."
Lydie sighed. "Oh no." As the bell rang, she stood and came to the desk where her teacher quickly sat. Yogensha only glanced at her as she walked by.
"I would quite appreciate it, Ms. Renaud, if you at least try to pay attention in my class. And not pass notes." She shook her head and picked up a pen, begining to tap it lightly. "When Mr. Ganer retired, he personally chose me to take over. He said that you were his best student, quite pleasant really." But then the seriousness left and she laughed. "Tomorrow you had better be more awake. Have a good one then."
Lydie nodded as she felt she should. "Thank you, Mrs...?"
The teacher stood and giggled. "You don't know my name?! You really need some sleep. I'm guessing it was last week's final, eh? Ms. Menelaus."
Again Lydie nodded. "I gotta go to track practice now. Sorry to rush out." Runs out of the room, wearing a conservative uniform.
The teacher simply smiled and watched her. "I was right, she is... potentially one of them."
Lydie hurried to the elevator, and was one level one in a matter of seconds. When the doors open, she walked at a normal pace done the athletic hall. Her black boots clancked on the marble floor. She sighed as she pushed open the door leading outside. The sunlight temperarily blinded her as she stood there. She shielded her eyes with her hand. Directly ahead, a few students were already on the track.
"Ugh.." Lydie bit her buttom lip then continued. A memory of her first day at this school came to Lydie, so she dreaded going near the person who had made it hell for her, Yogensha. She ran to the dressing lockers and quickly changed into her track outfit, a royal blue t-shirt and black shorts with a white and purple stripe on each side. She locked her backpack and clothes in her locker and walked back outside. While she stretched on the track, her long legs seemed to shimmer in the sun. Behind her she heard Yogensha laugh sacasticly.
Yogensha walked up beside Lydie. "Looking good there!" With that, she bumped her hip into Lydie's. The smile on her face faded, and she rolloed her eyes. "As if," she paused, "Well, maybe if you weren't such a freak. But, what are the chances?"
Lydie slid one of her legs down behind her, bending the other and leaning on it. "Whatever. We'll see who whens the big race, Kitty."
Yogensha crossed her arms, narrowing her eyes. "And how is that? Girl, I'll be the one in the spotlight when it's over." She gave Lydie a dirty look, up and down.
Lydie continued with her stretches, trying to ignore Yogensha. Suddenly she heard a guy's voice behind her, "Hey beautiful."
She turned around to see the most gorgeous man she had ever seen. "Wow," she thought in instant amasement. "Uh...hi," she stamered.
Yogensha laughed. "Hey, baby," she said slyly, molving closer to the guy, and in front of Lydie. "I'm Yogensha."
The guy smiled impishly. "I'm sure you're a very good runner, but you really shouldn't give her such a hard time. She may win." He looked behind Yogensha at Lydie and back at Yogensha, "Don't jump to the conclusion that you will win too fast." With that, the man walked away.
Yogensha swirled around, "He finally noticed me," she said and her eyes lit up. "Stay away from him," she added before she left.
The cold evening air made Lee shiver as he walked through the open atsmophere towards his dorm. In the background, he could hear faint voices laughing and the bells of the school signalizing dinner. He entered the secondary dorm and walked down the pure white hallway, barely making a sound. Upstairs, Lee stopped and used hi keys to open one of the doors.
Entering the cool room, Lee realized that it was coolder inside than outside this night. He wraps his arm around his chest after shutting the door. He hit the wall by the thermostat. "Damn school. Can't they keep anything working?" he asked angerly. At least he had fur.
He sat on his couch and curled up in a thick blanket as tight as possible. He remembered the encounter with Yogensha that morning. "Ggrrr..." Today would be the last time he got in trouble because of her. His eyelids fluttered shut; he was too tired from being at the library all day. Too many books.
