Prologue
Somewhere in New York a terrified, little girl with raven tresses sat doubled over on the floor of her apartment on floor 17. Red beams of light enter through the window above and behind her. The heat was almost too much to endure.
A teenage woman that resembled the little girl hurried into the room with sweat dripping on her face and her long, raven hair pulled up under a hat.
The girl looks up. Kristvia, whats going on?! she cried.
The woman, dressed in a hard shirt and leather pants, scooped the little girl up into her arms. Dont be afraid, Destiny, Kristvia said in false calmness, We need to get to the shelter where it will be safe. She ran through the door and down the hall toward the elevator. The elevator got to the ground floor in a matter of seconds.
Outside, thousands of people, earthians and otherwise, hurried towards the nearest shelter. If they could survive the high-tech bombs years ago in those shelters, then they could survive Sol becoming a red dorf.
Because of the loud siren, Kristvia could barely think. Excuse me!! she cried as she grabbed onto the door of a nearby hover car that was getting ready to pull off, Please tell me, where is there nearest shelter?
To far to walk! the woman in the passenger side yelled, You have to get a taxi car. The driver will know how to get there!! With that, the hover car speed away.
Kristvia glanced around, becoming more frantic. She yelled, Taxi!
Over there!, Destiny yelled as she pointed to a Taxi nearing the ground.
Kristvia immediately began to run towards it. Suddenly, an older man ran up behind Kristvia and shoved her out of the way. She toppled over, somehow managing not to drop Destiny. She slowly stood up, tightly clutching onto the little girl. Oh no, she muttered under her breath. She glanced around. Everyone else seemed to have a way to the shelter. Someone, please give us a ride!!, She yelled as loud as she could.
Going back for your sister was kind, so Ill share a secret with you, a voice from above said, breaking through the noise.
Both girls glanced up above them. Hovering in the red air was a woman basked in a cool, white light. She was dressed in a short, white robe with her wavy, raven-black hair loose, to her knees.
Wha.. what are you? Destiny asked in a trembling voice.
The goddess Averi.. Kristvia answered for the woman in little more then a whisper. She temporally forgot about the crises and set Destiny onto the ground next to her. The noises and the images seemed to fade out.
Averi continued, Even the people who make it to the shelter wont survive.
Why not? Destiny asked in a small voice.
They underestimate the power of the star, Sol. When it blows up, the immense heat will destroy this world, Averi answered in a grim voice, Nothing on Earth will save them. She reached out her hand to Destiny and smiled slightly.
After a brief hesitation, Destiny took Averis hand. At the same moment Kristvia felt a sudden jolt and collapsed onto her knees in pain. Her right hand rested on the side of her stomach. As Averi and Destiny disappeared, Kristvia screamed, What are you going to do with her?! Kristvia felt another jolt and lifted her hand. She stared in disbelief at her blood soaked hand.
