I don`t know what attracted me to canada, may be the far distance from my country, may be  the maple leaf in its flag, bilingualism, multiculturalism or may be the weather conditions that i knew  would be frigid. if somebody would have told me that one day i would go and live in canada, i would have probably told him that he was out of his mind.
      It`s been three years since i stepped on pearson airport, toronto, and now i am about to become a canadian citizen. i remember those days like yesterday. i and my friend nizam were like two fishes which have never lived outside of their aquarium. we had no place to stay and nobody to get assistance. all we had was a registration paper to york university english course. we knew we had to find a place to stay first. we found comfort inn and holiday inn hotels which are too expensive for a student to stay, but we had no other choice to choose. we didn`t even know how to get on a bus or use the subway. when bus driver told me the fare was 2 bucks i was trying to figure out what the bucks means. i remember one day we got lost on the way returning from school to hotel. we got confused and off too early. we tried to find hotel on foot, lost the sense of direction,  it was end of february , below 20 and snow in everywhere, nobody was around to ask for help to find address. i realized that day how feet, ears and hands become numb at the same time. As a person who is accustomed to mediterannian climate, it took really long time to get used to northern climate in here.
       No matter how cold the weather is, if you have friends who can share your good and bad moments, life is always warm and full of fun. in this matter, i would like to thank to all my friends in toronto and istanbul....
