Heating, drying, and curing are virtually unlimited for this versatile, cost-saving, and efficient technology!
Gas-Fired (Catalytic) Infrared technology at a glance:
- Low operating costs
- Minimal thermal loss
- Precise temperature control
- Uniform, rapid heating
- Increased productivity
- Complete drying penetration
- Extremely versatile
Operating costs are substantially lower than with electric infrared ovens since gas-fired infrared uses low cost natural gas as fuel insted of electricity. By using gas-fired infrared instead of electric infrared, energy costs can be cut by as much as 80%. The advantages to infrared technology are virtually the same in all fields. Since infrared energy is radiant energy it only heats objects and not air. This means that heat can be concentrated in a small area, exactly where it is needed, with minimal thermal loss. Also, temperatures can be precisely controlled according to the length of time the product is exposed to the heat source. Infrared heating is very uniform because similar surfaces receiving the same amount of infrared energy will be heated to precisely the same temperature, also, heating or drying is just as quick and complete because the heat penetrates the surface of the product and reaches the interior.
Gas-fired infrared is especially effective as a preheater or predryer. By preheating products, such as chemicals, metals, wood, glass, paper, and paper coatings, it brings them to temperature rapidly, allowing the baking, curing or evaporating processes to occur at a faster, higher rate. This technology is also widely used to dry and cure materials such as rubber, paint, resins and textiles. Downtime is reduced significantly, sometimes by 75%, allowing for faster line speed. Not to mention that since the gas-fired infrared oven is flameless, it is certified for hazardous locations, where conventional heating systems would be a peril. To retort, the advantages of this highly versatile technology are endless, please take some time and look over the following lists and tables, they list a variety of Infrared applications and also an overview of our models and their specifications.

A very diversified variety of Gas-Fired Infrared applications:
- Paper: Drying, predrying and curing of paper and paper coatings.
- Wood: Drying of wood, veneers, fillers, lacquers and varnishes.
- Glass: Preheating for melting; optical heat treating; silk screen printing.
- Paint: Powder coatings and drying solvent or water borne wet systems.
- Textiles: Drying and predrying for sizing and other finishing processes such as singeing or printing.
- Plastics: Softening for thermoforming, molding and laminating; drying coatings and heat sealing.
- Food: Cooking and dehydrating.
- Leather: Curing of skins.
- Metals: Welding, degreasing, preheating.
- Furniture: Drying of varnish and glues.
- Ceramic Tile: Dehydrating prior to kiln firing.
- Foundries: Drying and curing molds and cores.
- Printing: Drying inks and adhesives.
- Rubber: Curing latex; heating molds and adhesives.
- Chemicals: Dehydrating and preheating.
- New applications are blooming periodically.
Major advantages of our Infrared Catalytic Ovens/Heaters:
- Energy savings up to 80% over electric and 50% over gas fired open flame heaters/ovens.
- Flameless heat, which emits long wave infrared energy that is more easily absorbed by plastics.
- Even heat distribution with surface temperatures that can be set manually.
- A quality finish with no solvent popping or skinning.
- Minimal air movement preventing dust contamination.
- Heaters/oven utilize natural gas or propane.
- Cycle time improvement by 20-30%.
- No replacement of bulbs or ceramic plaques necessary.
- Virtually maintenance free, resulting in minimum downtime.
- Safe and approved for use in hazardous areas.
