Pioneers

 The International Scene

It has always been a source of great pride and pleasure that the following cats made such an impact on successive generations of Siamese and Orientals all over Europe, Scandinavia and South Africa. The first pioneering steps were taken with the export to the Netherlands in 1972 of Ch.Pendlemist Hachita, a Seal Tabbypointed Siamese male, a then typy son of my wonderful Ch. Sunjade Chocolate Domino and my Pitapat Minneha-ha.

 Morwenna
International Champion Pendlemist Morwenna, Seal Tabby Point in Switzerland.

 Pendlemist Tziganella
Pendlemist Tziganella who lived with Helene Van Engelan in Holland and her son and daughter. The son became Grand International Champion Alcemene Cavaquinto, a very prolific stud who sired many outstanding kittens.
 Red Ruan
International Grand Champion Ackiltie Red Ruan, Red Point. A very well loved stud who I sent to Dorte Kaae in Denmark in the 1980’s and who made a strong contribution to Red/Tortie pedigrees.

 Q Kittens
Qream-X-Treme, Quality Street & Queen of Hearts. Kittens bred by Kirsten Foldager from International Champion Pendlemist Pandora, Tortie Point. These kittens, as adults all gave type to the Danish pedigrees.
 Tapestry
Grand Champion Telperion Tapestry, Lilac Tortie Point of international fame. Dam of a great many champions. Tapetsry’s breeding life came to an end without neutering when she was nine years-old. She just never came into season again.

 Yvonne Kleyn
Yvonne Kleyn with Folklore Pegasus in 1981. My first International judging engagement was courtesy of Yvonne and the Dutch Cat Friends Society. Yvonne in my opinion is one of Europe’s finest breeder/judges.
 Krugerand
Champion Pendlemist Krugerand, Cream Point. Son of Tapestry and Champion Talmond Taranoga. He left England as a young adult to live in South Africa.

 Prince Hamlet
Pendlemist Prince Hamlet who lived in Denmark with Vibeke Holm Anderson, prior to her untimely death. He was a son of Krugerand and Tapestry after an unplanned mating, he also contributed to the type in the Danish pedigrees.
 The Shogun
The Shogun at eight months . . . .
 Shogun again
. . and at fifteen months

Europa Grand International Champion Pendlemist The Shogun, shown above, has been by far the greatest contribution to type from any of my cats. I am extremely proud of all of the resulting typy cats throughout Europe that have his genes in their pedigrees.
 Batty
‘BATTY’. Do your really have to ask why with ears of that size?
 Pendlefin Profile

Europa Grand International Champion Adrayam Pendelfin, Blue Point. The decision to allow him to live in Denmark was extremely difficult but his type was obviously a little too progressive for the English cat fancy at this time. Apparently kitten wins were acceptable, but for some judges his type was too ‘extreme’. At present he lives in semi-retirement with Kathy, Rosemarie and the Metexa cats. I am lucky to have kittens from one of his daughters.
