This is a message I sent out on 11/26/01 to everyone:
Team:
After hearing suggestions from teammates and coaches, we are going to insitute a team pre-game, pre-ICE warmup to help us address the issue of coming out a little "flat":
Since you will have on shirt and tie (no baseball hats...[Neil - oh sorry did I say that?]...), plan to arrive at games 1hr 15min early instead of the previous 1 hr early, so you will have time to change into warm-up appropriate clothing (shorts, sweat pants etc...). BE PREPARE FOR RAIN - i.e. ponchos for example
The pre-game schedule we be as follows:
1hr 15min early: Arrive and change into warmup clothing
00:00 -
TEAM stretch for 5 minutes (lightly)
00:05 - TEAM jog for five minutes around rink parking lot, or around softball
fields if home
00:06 - 20 pushups / 20 sit-ups / 20 jumping jacks
00:10 - TEAM stretch lead by Captain(s) - look for more flexibility this time
00:15 - return to dressing room (it would not hurt to take a pre-game quick
hot shower: opens pores
for sweating, and loosens muscles
01:00 - Chalk Talk
01:15 - ON ICE WARMUP BEGINS
