Skate/Cone/Shoot Drill
Players line up at opposite ends at opposite corners.

There will be two rows of cones in the neutral zone approximately 2 ft apart in line with the face off dots - arranged lengthwise with the rink.

The first player on each line will skatequickly to the top of the opposite face-off circle and start turning around while receiving a pass from whoever is now first in line at the opposite end.

Then the player will cut hard back around the nearest cone on the same side of the rink he started on, and procede to weave in and out of the cones with the puck: it is important to keep the legs moving, heads up, and skates crossing over. Power and balance are all key to making your way through traffic. Cup and curl the puck near your body as you go.

After navigating the cones, they player will pass the puck into the LAST player in line at that end, and then will quickly receive a ONE-TIMER for a shot on goal. NO-DEEKING - take your best one-timer (put pressure on your stick to contain the puck, and snap it). Take aim BEFORE you get the puck.

Again - everyone must PAY ATTENTION for this to work. Both first and last in line have to make passes.

Be sure to quickly collect errand pucks and send them to the front of the line!
