Intro When you join the ACF you will start off in the 'basics', here you will learn the very basics. Once you have passed this you will be promoted to a pre-star, one of six levels (Basics, pre-star, star-one, star-two, star-three, star-four). To pass a star level you must complete all the syllabus. On completing a star level you would be awarded with a badge which is sewn on to your brazzard (attached to your sleeve). Aswell as your star badges you also have the chance to gain promotion to NCO. The star levles To mark your progress through the Army Cadet Force Syllabus, stars are awarded, which you wear on your uniform to show your level of achievement to others; Once you reach the required level for each star pass. The Star levels are... Basic Training Pre Star Star 1 Star 2 Star 3 Star 4 Rank While you work your way up the star levels, you will also have the opportunity for promotion. As a cadet you can achieve the ranks of... Cadet Lance Corporal Corporal Sergeant Staff/Colour Sergeant Cadet Company Sergeant Major Cadet Regimental Sergeant Major Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme The training you will receive in cadets is compatible with many of the requirements for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. Once you gain your 2 Star you will also, automatically, qualify for your Bronze D-Of-E. When you gain your 3 Star this equates to your Silver Award. Finally, if you become a 4 Star Cadet, all you have to do to gain your Gold Award is complete the awards special expedition phases. |
