Garden Party

What good is a beautiful garden and pond if you can't show it off? Besides if you really have done all of the work to have a beautiful garden you need a break once in a while, and a good party does both. Once you get a reputation for having good parties, they are quite enjoyable. some tips for good parties are

  1. Themes, a theme party gets everyone into a party mood. Don't make it to complicated at first, or everyone will get a little put off. A few decorations, and party favors go a long way so keep it simple. the banner below is a company we have dealt with long before the web page went up; they have all kinds of things for decorating and party favors at very reasonable prices, give them a look for ideas 468x60otcstandard banner
  2. Food, simple foods to your signature dishes make a party special, avoid foods that require special handling. People are generaly more casual at parties and if your food is to fancy, it clashes with the mood
  3. Alcohol, our parties are always announced B.Y.O.B, but we keep something for the guests that don't bring anything but change their minds. B.Y.O.B parties discourage the people who will show up just to get drunk on free beer and become obnoxious. You don't need those problems, parties are supposed to be fun. Don't be afraid to collect car, motorcycle and bicycle keys either. (It's realy embarassing to lose your driver's license because you were drunk on a bicycle, and it does happen!)
  4. Invitations, we request RSVP's to our parties, so that we have some Idea how many will come, but many people who say they are come no-shows. The RSVP is usually verbal for most people. We are going to use the service below for our next party for invitations and RSVP's, we are finding that most of our friends who actually show up are on-line any ways.
  5. Cadre, You'll find that there are a few people who really make the party. They are the special friends who automatically ask if there is anything that they can do or bring. Bend over backwards to schedule so that they can attend because they'll bend over backward to get there. Watch them, if you don't they'll start working like a hired staff. Let them help out a little bit, but insist that they don't do to much. You want them to have fun not work like a job, but still You don't want to turn it into a territory fight either.
