F
From an enigmatic mind . . .
Yo, the last year has been wild for an
up-and-coming hip-hop group such as ourselves. We've done our first live
show, rocked the house, bombed (sometimes in the same show that we rocked
the house), broken up, got back together and done some of our best beats
and rhymes to date. And things are really starting to heat up now.
First of all, much love to Justin Carter aka
DeeJay:eMCee, the newest member of the extended M:3 family, for filling in
for GottaPooP when it's necessary and being a hellafied addition to our
show (look for him in the future); Brian, Brendan and the rest of the cats
from 200 North, the East Coast's premiere hardcore band for helping out
some struggling hip-hoppers; Dan, Nick, Andy and Bass of Grill Body 5,
Western Maryland's best-selling pop-punk band, for the same thing, and
especially Dan for his musical involvement (all guitars you hear on a M:3
track are courtesy of Dapper Dan); and Jason and Jarvak 7 for hooking us
up a little bit.
For those who missed out on anything, we kicked
ass at the Washington house (our first performance, dedicated to Dave and
Melody, RIP), Gandaulf's 1 (I stage dove; 'nuff said), Tome's house party
(ya getz hippie, ya getz hoppie) and FSU (Yes, that was the Poet taking
his shirt off to throngs of screaming chicks). We sucked at My Place (any
member of the group knows why) and Ohio (ever try to do a show without
practicing, um, AT ALL?)
The strangest thing happened the other day--I saw
someone I didn't know in any way rocking a green M:3 shirt. Also saw a
picture of some chick rocking a red one. Ran into a girl who had heard of
us and said "Oh, you're in Midnight:30? I heard you're awesome!" and was
at a party where three dudes had been to our shows and liked it. Is
Midnight:30 contagious?
On the agenda, we got Gandaulf's II--da return;
Phat Rabbits; Uncle Tucker's; Battle of the Bands at Fort Hill; and who
knows what else.
GottaPooP, do your thing, don't know when we're
gonna see you.
Look out behind you . . . M:3's sneaking up . . .
Peace. Truce, over and out.
