Prerequisites: None
This course introduces data communication and networking. Topics include
telecommunication standards, protocols, equipment, network topologies,
communication software, LANs, WANs, the Internet, and network operating
systems. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate understanding
of the fundamentals of telecommunication and networking.

Class Attendance:
Class attendance is necessary. You are accountable for all material
covered during class. The Durham Tech Attendance Policy permits you
to miss 15% of the course class time before being dropped from the course.
For this class, that is 3 classes and then you will be dropped. The
last day to withdrawal from the class with a W is Tuesday, October 31.

There will be 4 tests in this class. I will drop the lowest test
grade. There will be NO MAKE-UP TESTS! If you miss a test,
that is the test grade that will be replaced.
Special Assistance:

Coordinator within the first two weeks of class. Likewise, students
