- sand dunes -

You can see easily when I'm 'off' work by the frequency of making images in my gallery. When I begin, nobody stops me!! :-)

Ok, this one is a very simple geometry with displacement. This time, it worked fine and very fast. The texture used as displace is a 2d water (modified a bit) and the tesselation is really low (112 polys).

The dry grass is made with paintFX and a poor envSky is mapped onto a flat plane for the background. I wanted to make the paintFX curves follow the displaced geometry, so I've converted into polygons the displaced geometry. Then I've duplicated the original (nurbs) plane and used a softBody and collisions with the poly mesh to generate a nurbs shape of the 'original' displaced sand. Then I have normally painted my strokes on it to match perfectly with the sand dunes.
