This image could also be named "Maya and its numerical emorroids" because it's been a pain in the a... to render that image!! But I think it was worth waiting 4 hrs 22 mns and spend 640 Mgs to have that!!
The specs:
Resolution: 1536 * 1152
Ray-trace with an area light (10*10 samples and ray depth)
Skylight: 64 lights
Displacement: default values for tesselation and texture sampling but the
objects are highly tesselated (subdivide level 3)
