On this movie, we had to create an avalanche in 3d. We used hardware particles (for the main avalanche) and instances for the blocks of snow 'emitted' by the avalanche.

A team of 20 CG artists (2d/3d) have worked during one month to fake up to 30 shots. (It's a lot of work with (always) so short time to make it!!)

We have rendered up to 600.000 hardware particles, and hundreds of instanced particles (objects) to re-create a 3d avalanche.
