Welcome to the fascinating world of the "Bedtime Game"! Train your strategical skills, develop a sixth sense for danger, live the adventure - and be sure to have never-ending fun with the unique characters and tools!
Before you start playing, please take a few minutes to read the FAQs.
What is "Bedtime Game" all about? Your mission is to go to bed and fall asleep before the time limit (set to 30 minutes) runs  out. Yes, it's that simple! But watch out - you're not alone in your bedroom! Furry little critters with four paws and long tails will try to attract your attention and keep you awake. These playful and intelligent characters named "cats" have certain unique talents at their disposal, including meows, purrs, nose rubs, claws and the ability to read your mind and foresee your actions. Additionally, they can use numerous tools, such as toy mice and balls, to fulfill their mission to persuade you to play with them. To win the game, you will need to develop a strategy and follow it through to the end. Remember, though, that the cats are quick learners - if you use the same strategy too often, they might learn to use it against you. NOTE: If you are playing this game for the first time, we highly recommend you start with the tutorial (one cat, no time limit) to get used to the characters and tools.
How do I install the program? All you have to do is choose your cats, either from a local shelter, private household, feral colony or breeder, and bring them home.
How do I start playing? Use the voice command "Bedtime, kids!" to start the game. NOTE: Play levels depend on the number of cats living in your house. You can easily upgrade the program by simply bringing another cat home, but you CANNOT return to a lower level as that would mean giving a cat away, and that's no valid option with "Bedtime Game"!
How many cats can I choose? The minimum is two, except for the tutorial. The maximum is entirely left up to you, depending on your life circumstances, size of house and state of nerves.
Can I simply lock the cats out of the bedroom to win? Sorry, that's not possible. Come on, where's your sense for adventure? Meeting the challenge is part of the fun with "Bedtime Game"!
Will my cats follow a strategy? They will mostly rely on their intuition, a highly developed yet illogical sense which actually is worse than a strategy as it can't be beat.
What will my cats do to keep me awake? Well, that depends on your cats's personalities. The Yo-Yo Cat will block your bed so you can't get in, you may pick it up and place it in it's own basket but it will jump back into your bed within the wink of an eye (Strategy: ignore it until the very last second, then just shove it aside, lie down and hide under the blanket). The Lighting Cat will constantly turn the lights on and off. It knows that humans can't see in the dark and counts on your being confused and helpless, yet will give you the opportunity to make a jump start at it while the light is on (Strategy: learn to undress in the dark. To avoid confusion by the "light show", keep eyes shut). The Hunter Cat is after your shoe laces, shirt, socs, underwear etc but won't actually wait untill you've undressed (Strategy: wear armour to avoid serious injury). The Retriever Cat will bring you a toy mouse or ball to tempt you (Strategy: DO NOT throw the mouse or ball for the Retriever Cat will repeatedly bring it back for you to throw. Instead, hide the mouse or ball in a drawer or behind the cupboard. You may have to tidy up a pretty mess in the morning but at least you've won your game). The Royal Cat will try to make you feel guilty and insecure by shouting at you and insisting on immediate attention NOW! (Strategy: when you bow down to untie your shoe laces, throw a glance at Royal Cat and whisper words of apology to make Royal Cat believe it gets its will). The Flying Cat will jump at you, preferably from behind and without warning, place itself on your shoulder or back and thus make it impossible for you to proceed undressing (Strategy: keep moving! It may take a little practising but you will finally learn to samba-dance while you're undressing). The Loyal Purrer Cat will stay as close to you as it possibly can, constantly rub its head against you and purr you into taking time out to pet it (Strategy: learn to undress single-handed to have one hand available for Loyal Purrer Cat). The Big Pest Cat will just sit and stare while you undress but once you're lying flat out will let itself fall butt first into your face (Strategy: sleep in fetal position, protecting your head with your arms). Well, these are only a few examples - remember that with time, your cats will become more experienced, learn new features and introduce new tools to the game. You will be challenged to not only keep up with them but be one step ahead. One last little hint: refrain from excessive use of treats to take your cats' minds off pesting you! This action tends to backfire on you as your cats will trouble you even more until they have received their treats.
And now... good luck and have fun!
