THIS IS A LIST OF OUR PERSONAL FAVORITE PLACES TO VISIT IN VIRGINIA BEACH. WE HAVE NOT BEEN COMPENSATED IN ANY WAY FOR ADVERTISING FOR THESE ESTABLISHMENTS. WE SIMPLY WANTED TO SHARE WITH YOU SOME PLACES THAT HAVE NEVER DISAPPOINTED US WITH REGARD TO QUALITY AND VALUE. KEEP IN MIND THAT ALL PLACES ON THIS LISTING ARE WITHIN EASY WALKING DISTANCE OF EACH OTHER AND THE OCEANFRONT.
LODGING
ALL OF THE MOTELS LISTED HERE ARE ON THE OCEANFRONT. ALL HAVE PRIVATE BALCONIES FACING THE OCEAN AS WELL AS COMPACT REFRIGERATORS AND MICROWAVES. THERE ARE SOME GREAT EARLY AND LATE SEASON DISCOUNTS. THE BEACH IS ALSO GREAT IN THE EARLY AND LATE SEASONS. RESTAURANTS AND NIGHTCLUBS REMAIN OPEN IN DURING THOSE SEASONS, IF NOT YEAR AROUND.
THE CAPES- Clearly our favorite. One of the more reasonably priced motels at the beach and the quality is consistently high.
THE BREAKERS - A very nice place to stay. This motel features complimentary bicycles. That should be factored in when comparing prices.
OCEAN SANDS - Also very nice. The price varies relative to others from year to year.
WYNNWOOD SUITES - The quality here is not at the same level as the other motels on this list but is not bad for the price.
RESTAURANTS
ABBEY ROAD PUB AND RESTAURANT - A very warm and folksy place. They have an excellent menu and free live entertainment.
HAMMERHEADS SURF BAR AND GRILL - Excellent food with daily specials. Also a favorite nightspot.
22nd STREET RAW BAR AND GRILL - These people definately have a way with fresh seafood.
DOUGH BOY'S CALIFORNIA PIZZA - No, not just pizza. Dough Boy's has exotic pizza, some with seafood. Also a pretty large selection of mixed drinks and shooters.
COASTAL DINER - Sorry, no website but a great place for breakfast. fast service, good food. Reasonable prices. Recently upgraded.

NIGHTLIFE
ALL OF THESE PLACES ARE OPEN YEAR AROUND
LUNA SEA - Luna Sea has a great atmosphere, friendly staff and undoubtedly the best margarita at the beach. 2 thumbs up for Rob Grabb, margaritameister extraordinare, for the prize winning margarita recipe. Your secret is safe with us duuude.
PEABODY'S - Peabody's has always been a favorite for dancing at the beach. They also have good food and a huge selection of legal beverages. A great place to party.
HAMMERHEADS - This place gets pretty wild after dark. If you like it loud and wild, this is the place. Another favorite dance spot.
THE EDGE - This is a great hang-out if you want to meet people. After dark, The Edge is heavily trafficked by tourists and locals.
CROC'S MIGHTY NICE GRILL - Great food, service, entertainment and dancing. Just a few blocks away from the heart of town but a pleasant walk.
