(Kouzou appears on screen)

(Giant Rei appears. Shot goes to Shinji)

(Scene goes to SEELE meeting room)

All (Chant): Evangelion Unit 01's pilot...
He represents the five senses of humans...

Keel: The moment for pain and punishment has come.

(Control Room in NERV)

Shigeru: EVA series' AT Field is growing!

Makoto: It is expanding!

Kouzou: Rei started the combination?

(Scene changes to outside. EVA Series take Rei's face)

Shigeru: Shinji! Calm down!

Makoto: What is the situation!? Please respond!

Kouzou: Everything is up to the pilot, now.

(Back to Shinji)

Shinji: No...

Kaworu (Off Screen): It doesn't matter. (Shot of Cross)

(Giant Kaworu appears)

Shinji: Can you see me? Kaworu...

(Control Room)

Shigeru: Syncronization signal, reversed!
Almost reaching syncronization limit!

Makoto: Power system reaching red zone!

Kouzou: Angels posess the fruit of life.
Humans posess the fruit of intelligence.

(Shot changes to outside..)

Kouzou (Off screen): It has both now.
EVA-01 is existing like God, now.
Right now the origin of life is welcoming the birth
of re-creation. (Same line)
Will it become Noah's Ark in the Third Impact?
Or will it become the demon that destroys us all?
Everything is in the hands of Ikari's son, now.

Maya: Are we doing the right thing?

Kouzou: How should I know?

(Back outside, Giant-Rei is holding EVA-01)

Yui (Voice): Inside your own heart, your hope...
and... how do you want things to be?
 

SCENE CHANGE - The Mind of Shinji

(In a park, with Chibi-Shinji)

Shinji (voice): Here? Just like in the beginning?
I thought, when I came here, I could find something...

Random Kid A: Shinji, let's play together! Push hard!

Chibi-Shinji: Kay.

Random Kid A: Ah, Mother is here! I have to go home now!
Bye-bye!

A group of kids: Bye-bye!

(Shinji builds a pyramid, then destroys it..)

(Random thought sequence. This is hell to keep track of. The scenes
change every few seconds, so I'm just going to right what each character
says as they say it, with no notes on scene/actions.)

Asuka (voice): Jeeez, whenever I see you
I feel so angry! (She appears)

Shinji: Just like yourself...

Chibi-Asuka: Mama!

Shinji: Mama...

Misato (voice): How are you?
I can not become Shinji's mother.
Mmmm, let's do it.

Kaji (voice): I'm really tired today.

Misato (voice): Jeez, it doesn't matter, there's still time..

Kaji (voice): Are you for real? I'm really tired.

Misato (voice): Come on, don't be like that.

(pause)

Misato (voice): I just want to prove my own existance.
But I'm doing this kind of thing..

Asuka (voice): What an idiot! They are just two lonely adults
comforting each other.

Ritsuko (voice): Even though it is just physical, it is a need.

Misato (voice): I feel I'm an adult now. That makes me excited.

Shinji (thinking): Because of that... Misato would do this sort of thing?

doing. (same line)

(Asuka pushes Shinji)

You look really pathetic.

SCENE CHANGE - THIRD IMPACT

(Psychological Scene - Flashing, Random Shots)

Shinji: No one understands me.

Rei: You don't understand other people.

Shinji: I thought this was something painless.
A perfect world.

Rei: Because you don't try to understand the world,
you think this is unfair.

Shinji: Betrayed. Betrayed my feelings!

Rei: You've misunderstood it from the very beginning.
You are creating feelings for yourself.

Shinji: Nobody wants me.
So everybody, just go, and die.

Rei: But, everyone has the right to live.

Shinji: It will be the same with, or without, my existance.
Nothing has changed.
So, everybody, just go, and die.

Rei: But your heart has been dampened by your tears.

Shinji: It would be better if I was not here.
So it doesn't matter if I die too.

Rei: Then, why are you here?

Shinji: Can I stay in here?

Text On Screen: (Speachless)

Shinji (screaming): No!!

(Scene changes to real world, the Control Room in NERV)

Makoto: The pilot's reaction suddenly increased!

Shigeru: EVA series and all personel on land..
Reaction increasing in them as well!

(This is odd. The translation is 'Reaction' or 'Effect'.. or something
of that nature, but it doesn't specify the TYPE of reaction.)

(Speaker talks, but no translation)

Makoto: All EVAs still exist!

Shigeru: Anti-AT Field, still expanding!
It has started to materialize!

(UBER-REI APPEARS!)

Makoto (Off Screen): Anti-AT Field, gone off the limit!

Shigeru: Oh damn! If this continues,
all life-forms will be destroyed!

(Uber-Rei spreads her wings!)

Kouzou: Everything is just like the prophecy.
The world's door of beginning and end
has finally opened?

Rei(s): The sadness of the world has been leading us.
Turmoil has been surrounding everyone.
Loneliness has filled the hearts of humans.

(Rei's start to turn people into LCL)

Kouzou: Ikari, you finally see Yui-kun?

Maya: Everybody's AT Field is disappearing. The answer is...
I must calculate the outcome.
Sempai!

[NOTE: As the hand flies by the screen, the words 'I need you' are vaguely
visible to the left. ]

(Scene changes to SEELE meeting room..)

Keel: The beginning, and the end, at the same point.
Very good, it is fine for everything to be this way.

(Keel melts, scene changes to Gendou)

Gendou: I have been waiting for this moment for so long.
I finally see you again, Yui...
With me, I will just keep hurting Shinji.
So, it is better to do nothing.

Yui: You are actually afraid of Shinji, aren't you...

Gendou: I don't believe I can love people.
I don't have that quality.

Kaworu: This is only an appearance. Before you hurt yourself,
you reject the entire world.

Yui: Between one person and another, there is no solid
object blocking us from seeing one another.

Rei: Afraid, so you just close your heart to others.

Gendou: So this is my punishment?
Sorry, Shinji.

(EVA-01 bites Gendou in half, while the EVA series kill themselves. Third
Impact continues.)

Shinji: Ayanami... Rei? (No chinese subs, but it was easy to translate)

(Merged thoughts combining, and various ones are relayed loudly.. Each
time a chinese sub appears, I wrote a translation. If you catch anymore,
feel free to put them in...)

Misato: It only happens that you're beside me, so do not misunderstand.

Shinji: Can I dream alone?

Rei: That would not be a dream. It would just be a projection of reality.

(Thoughts continue to flash..)

Shinji: Then... where is my dream?

Rei: That is the extension of reality.

Shinji: My... where is my reality?

Rei: That is at the end of the dream.

(Blood pours from Uber-Rei's neck. Shinji/Rei scene insues..)

Shinji: Ayanami... where are we?

Rei: This is the sea of LCL.
That is the sea of the origin of life.
This is the world
without AT Fields, and therefore, without your own shape.
You can't tell the difference
between one person or another.
An ambiguous world.
Everything is yourself, and also, everything is not yourself.
A dead world.

Shinji: I died?

Rei: No, everything has just combined into one.
This is the world you have been hoping for. It is like this.

Shinji: But... this is not it.
I don't believe this is it...

Rei: If you hope that other people exist again,
your heart will seperate everyone once more.
But you will be frightened of other people, again.

Shinji: It doesn't matter.

(Scene changes to Shinji's Mind, once more)

Shinji: I feel that there are only hateful things there.
So running away is not bad, either.
But even if I run away I can not find a better place.
Isn't it? Because the world is without me, now.
Just like without anyone else.

Kaworu: Produce the AT Field once more...
Hurting other people again, that's ok?

Shinji: That's ok.
But, what do you people mean to me?

Rei: It's hope. Humans may be able to understand each other.
That means...

Kaworu: The word called 'like'.

Shinji: But that is just appearance, a self-intoxicating thought.
Just like praying.
I can't continue like that forever.
Finally, one day, I will be betrayed.
Will leave me...
But... I want to start from the beginning, one more time.
Because I think that the feeling at the time

(Third Impact fails.. LCL leaves Rei, returning to Earth..)

Kaworu (voice): As somewhere that is unknown to reality,
a dream is within reality.

Kaworu: Because it is the human heart that creates your appearance.

Rei: And new thoughts will change peoples' hearts.
Imagination... the power of creation.
Open your own future, create it.

Kaworu: Then humans can complement themselves.

Rei: So you have to use your own strength
to get your lost self back.
Even if you lose your own language,
you have to import other peoples' languages.
 

(EVA-01 splits the Longinus Lance, and the EVA series is destroyed)

Rei: As long as your heart can imagine your own shape,
everyone can return to the human form.

(One of the EVA series falls to Earth. Many crosses appear.)

Yui: Don't worry, every single life-form
has the power to return to their original form.
Every life-form has the power to live.
As long as you want to live, everywhere will become heaven.
Isn't that right? Because you are still alive.
The chance to achieve happiness, you can find it anywhere.

(Rei appears, crosses fly some more.)

Yui: As long as there is sun, moon and earth exist.
Everything will be alright.

(Scene changes to Shinji and Yui)

Yui: So, everything is fine?

Shinji: Is it a happy place? I don't know yet.
But, here...
What will happen if I am born here?
I will continue to think about it from now on.
But in the end, I will found out that it is just common sense.
Because I am myself.

(Shinji appears out of the sea of LCL..)

Shinji: But mother... what will happen to mother?

(Quick flashback to 15 years ago, when Shinji was a baby.)

Kouzou: Humans copy the appearance of God to create the Evangelion.
Is this the real goal?

Yui: Yes. Humans can only live mortally on this planet.
But, EVA can live forever
with the human soul that lives within its body.
Even after 500,000,000,000 (500 billion) years have past,
the earth, moon, and even the sun have disappeared,
it will still exist
as long as one person is alive.
Although it will be very lonely, as long as that person still lives...

Kouzou: That will be the sign that humans existed,
and they will be preserved forever...?

Shinji: Good-bye, mother.
 

TITLE - THE END OF EVANGELION
ONE MORE FINAL: I need you.

(Asuka and Shinji are left on earth. Shinji tries to strangle Asuka, but
with a touch, she stops him...)

Asuka: What a disgusting feeling...
