Here it is, John's soft, sensitive side.

Actually, I wrote these in high school.
By the way, the title of the second poem is pronounced Des-a-ray.
I haven't quite learned how to put accent marks over letters yet.

By Your Side

I've got to attempt to get through to you,
to let you know how I feel about you
All I have right now is time,
and I'm waiting to make you mine,
but I don't want to wait in line
Can't you see?

I know you think I'm like the guys before
who gave you a line then went out the door
But I'm telling you; you've got me wrong;
by my side is where you belong,
and I find it hard to get along
Without you

Well, I know this all seems a lot to take
You've bided your time, your heart is at stake
Now as false as it may seem or sound,
I hope that someday you'll come around
If so you know where I'll be found
By your side...

Desiree

I saw her just the other day
I know she saw me and turned away.
I can't understand what's going on
The feelings she once had are gone.

I spend my time here all alone,
Sitting around, staring at the phone.
I guess I hope that she will soon call,
To help me break right through this wall

She doesn't love me anymore
She shut me out and then locked the door.
I know now that what I did was wrong;
My lonely nights are cold and long.

My friends say I should just forget her
They say it's over for the better.
And though her love for me is now gone,
I just can't help but to hold on.
