For the Ancient Celts, months and letters of the alphabet were represented by particular trees. I once saw some jewellery which used this tree/month symbolism on silver necklace charms with ogham script. Whether representation of the months by trees is very accurate, I don't know, but it is rather interesting.
Letters of the Gaelic alphabet are represented by trees but I have't gotten a clear version of thet yet. (Oh, well, dig out a few more Gaelic dictionaries...) |
