Currant Sodabread

Ingredients
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup white flour
1/2 cup quick cooking oats
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup of dried currants
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 3/4 cups of buttermilk

Instructions
Combine all ingredients except oil and buttermilk. Add buttermilk and oil to dry mixture and stir until all dry ingredients are moist. Turn dough out onto floured board and knead about 7 to 10 times or until smooth. Shape into 7-8 inch flattened, round loaf and place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Make an X 1/2 inch deep on top of loaf. Bake at 350 degrees F for 65 to 70 minutes or until golden-brown and crusty.
