Larry & Laura's evening is interrupted by Larry's friend, Artie.
Laura: Larry? Is something wrong.
Artie: gee, I'm sorry. I didn't know you had anybody here.
Larry: Artie, this is Laura Leighton. Laura, this is artie.
Laura: hi. Nice to meet you.
Artie: "melrose place". Hey, you're wonderful. I watch it. I'm just hooked.
Larry: we're not on the show now.
Artie: right. Nice to see you. I'm sorry. I didn't know you were here.
Larry: that's all right.
Laura: if you will excuse me, I will be in the kitchen.
Artie: thank you very much. I'll be just one minute.
Artie: glad you got something going on.
Larry: I'm crazy about her.
Laura & Larry are watching a scene from Melrose where Taylor and Sydney are talking:
Sydney: You know, I think it's amazing to see 2 people that can live together and work together. You'd think you'd get sick of each other.
Taylor: Well, it allows me to keep an eye on him.
Sydney: I can see why that would be important.
Larry doesn't want to watch Melrose anymore:
Larry: could we turn that off?
Laura: you have to see this funny scene.
Larry: I've seen this one. Please, can we turn it off?
Laura: you have never even seen "melrose place."
Larry: yes I have. It's good. You know who's really good in this one? David schwimmer. He's hilarious in this one.
Laura: very fucking funny.
Now Larry & Laura are watching an episode of his show, "The Larry Sanders Show" and Laura doesn't want to watch it:
Laura: can we turn this off?
Larry: if this was "melrose place", you'd be glued to it.
Laura: you've already seen this.
Larry: not on tv.
Laura is talking with Larry's secretary:
Laura: So Larry asked me to move in with him.
Beverly: oh. And are you going to?
Laura: I don't know. It's too fast. I'm just not sure that I'm ready to... Be in a relationship with someone in show business.
Beverly: wait. I don't understand. You're in show business.
Laura: exactly.
Artie interrupts again, and Laura exits when she gets a call from Martin Scorcese:
Artie: Ohhh Scusi.
Beverly: you got cleaned up pretty fast.
Laura: hey, arthur, how did it go in italy?
Relationships are tough.
Marylou: excuse me Laura. You have a phone call from Martin Scorsese.
Laura: great. That is the phone call I have been waiting for.
Beverly: you can take it in the writer's room. It will be more private. And we'll talk about that thing.
