I think they call this a "butterfly" loop.

Or ... evidently not.  Explanation to follow.
I still like the pic, tho.  =)

(from my Bro -- he's people that knows coasters ...)

Technically speaking, the "Butterfly Loop" you took a picture of ... it's actually called a "Cobra Roll".  But it's a little more complicated than that (as Dr. Brewer will tell you, "Things are always more complicated than they are.")  Butterfly Loops are similar to what you took a picture of, but instead of coming in, twisting around, and going out on the same side, you go in on one side, go through the loops, and come out on the other side.  (See a pic of one at http://rcdb.com/installationgallery753.htm?Picture=6, or directly behind the Vertical Loop at http://rcdb.com/installationgallery753.htm?Picture=11)  But wait, there's more!  Only B & M (maker of, among others, Vortex, Top Gun, Dueling Dragons, Kraken, and that Batman ride that was closed down @
SFoT when you and I went) calls these loops you photographed "Cobra Rolls".  Vekoma (maker of such rides as Ninja @ SFoG and Flashback! @ SFoT -- also closed when we went there) calls the same things "Boomerang Loops". Arrow Dynamics (Myrtle Beach "Corkscrew", "Anaconda" @ PKD, "Carolina Cyclone" @ Carowinds, etc.) calls them "Kamikaze Kurves" on some of their coasters and "Batwings" on their newer coasters (and I don't think any of the coasters on Arrow's list had anything like what I'm talking about ...)  So, yeah, Cobra Roll.
