The Tower and Balcony are constructed over the oldest surviving part of the original Caer Neochiallach. From this vantage point, you can see most of County Boaghalta, as the Scotts refer to it, or Boaghaltashire, as the Irish insist on calling it. If you lean out over the railing and look to the left, you can see Loch Dubh, the source of the river of the same name.
