The first full rays of dawn break thru the trees ...
highlighting the morning mist, while sparkling on the dew.
Sleeping are the night folk; those restless are just a few,
young pups nip at one another, as they try to settle in.
you wonder how you've made it here
Upon this peaceful scene ...
One close to the middle perks her ears.
As if hears your breath... and opening one eye, she spies you;
Saying not a word, smells you on the wind.
She settles back in... next to the eldest wolf
Somehow it seems, She waits for you...
You wonder why this Is.
The Older wolf calls out then, the others take notice too
You know now, She has spoted You...
strangely you feel you belong here
Responding to the call; coming from the shadow
they come up to you in welcome
sniffing, waging tails, with short happy yaps
pulling you; pushing you,
til you are down and settled in
And some how you are sure now
you are where you've always been
