9 see the emphasis and disbelief of the author at Solomons inexplicable behavior, as if to say "...turned away from the LORD..." (pause) "...the GOD of Israel..." (pause) "...who [PERSONALLY] appeared [not once but] TWICE to Solomon."
29-39 Gid made Jeroboam a fair offer - I am GIVING you 10 tribes, NOW you can KEEP them and become GREAT IF you follow My ways..."
	This proves it is NOT worldly possessions or political power that GIVES greatness or assures it - It is ONLY in HONORING GOD; no matter WHAT a man attains in life, if he fails to honor and obey God, ALL his so-called personal glory is as ephemeral as a wisp of mist and as easliy lost as if it never was;

I Kings 12
5 WHY is is that the foolishness and sins of the leaders ALWAYS have to be subsidized by the sweat of the people - increasing taxation to only FURTHER support leader-idiocy!
7 How wise; if you serve THEM, THEY will be willing to serve you BACK;
16 A king without a kingdom! talk about voting with your feet! how sad, odd, foolish Rehobaom NEVER considered the possibility they'd just abandon him;	This seems to be the shortest least bloody civil war I ever saw - so MANY left him the "Rebels" grossly out numbered the "loyalists";

I Kings 15
25-26  Make no mistake! One man's sin is NOT just "personal" - it DOES influence (for the ill) ALL who are associated with him - that's why a LEADERS sin is all the worse because HE has a wider sphere of influence
33-34 NO guarentee the NEXT guy is any better that the one he replaces;

7 although Jeroboam was truely evil, Baasha did NOT have the right to kill the Kings family, his "house"; 
	coup afeter coup - slaughter of all the families year after year - what a nightmare of political upheaval - makes the Italian government of the 20th century seem well organized by comparison; makes the entire HISTORY of Italian givernment, including the Borgia's, seem quiet; 
23-24 How Samaria got it's name!
	All the details in the "annals of the Kings of Israel" - THIS book was NOT meant to be biographical, it's purpose was to show the CONCLUSIONS, the ANALYSIS of those historical details - to take from the horribly monotonous litney of sin after sin, outrage after outrage, the MESSAGE of GOD'S RESPONSE to those actions;
	This book is meant to tell us about GOD - His attitude, His desire for man, His point of view - to reveal who HE is, NOT who those sad horrible tragic revolting little men-who-would-be-king were...
