6ff People are dying by the THOUSANDS for a KNOWN reason, and yet THIS idiot is so blinded by his own selfish lust he DOESN'T CARE - the leaders were to be killed, NOT this guy, yet he insisted, he MADE an issue of it - Phinehas just could NOT stand it! He slew this man who NEEDED killing afrter not only refusing God's offer to turn back, but PUBLICALLY denouncing it with his actions!
Phinehas HATED sin - oh that I sould so hate that which leads us to destruction;

53  as their numbers had changed in the dessert, so had their inheritance;
62  here they counted male levites from one month and up to indicate thay are the Lord's and to be counted as such from the start! All other tribes were counted based upon their ability to perform military duties - but NOT the Levites, who are His to serve ALWAYS;
65  ALL but Caleb and Joshua! The OTHERS sin kept them from recieving the fruits of their faithfulness for FOURTY YEARS - yet they were not bitter or resentful of God, Moses or Israel - they STILL trusted God, and in His timing;
