Hi there, here is some information about myself
and my relationship to Scotland and the british isle.
I came to visit London for the first time in 1977 as a good friend of our family who lived there used to visit us once a year.
In april 1984 I visited Scotland together with
a friend. We got caught in a snowstorm on Ben Nevis the day after having
been wettened all over in our sleeping bags lying on the mount next to
the Nevis and marching back all the way to Fort William at 1 in the night.
A few days later we got caught by a real bash
of rain on the Isle of Skye. When we left the highlands through Glen Coe
back on our way home, I knew I would return for sure.
In 1986 I travelled on my own but could not get further than London where I stayed with my friend, Mr. Stan Beecher.
But in 1998 I returned with my wife and after a visit to Stan went on to Fort William, Loch Lochy, where we were caught in a terrible rain shower, lasting only about an hour but wettening all our luggage, on the way to Laggan Locks (then the cafe was still open) together with a traveller from Brittany. On the Isle of Skye we could not get cheap accommodation and so we travelled on to Kerry (south-west Ireland).
In 1991 we returned with the guy who accompanied me on my first visit to scotland and his later wife, a friend of my wife. She found Loch Ness a little embarrassing after a long walk from Loch Lochy Youth Hostel and Fort William (from the Bunkhouse) a little to uncomfortable and wet. So we left for Lisbon/Portugal. You never know where you end up
