Information about the Utah family who will receive some of the proceeds:
Staff Sergeant James W. Cawley
The 41-year-old Marine was a Salt Lake City police officer and a member of the
SWAT team. He was serving with the 2nd Battalion, 23rd Marines in Iraq when
he died.
Cawley served an LDS mission in Japan and then returned as a Marine several years later where he met and married his wife.
Friends and family characterized Cawley as a man who hated to leave his wife and children to go to war but recognized its necessity. "He chose the route of a warrior," said his friend Marine Chief Warrant Officer Timothy Brewer. "This is how Jim decided to make his mark in the world. To his children, I would say, there are a lot of people free today because of your dad. There are a lot of Marines alive today because of the training your dad gave them."
