June 5, 1968.

Senator Robert F Kennedy of New York and his wife Ethel are attending a party at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles to celebrate his winning the California Primary.They have brought four of their 10 children. All children are in bed, except for his twelve year old son, who is watching tv in his hotel room.

The Senator decides to leave the party by way of the hotel kitchen, there are some people he wants to shake hands with. As he is passing through, he is assasinated. It is caught ont tape and played on the news a few seconds later. David Kennedy, age twelve, is alone in his hotel room, watching the late news when the story breaks.

In all the confusion and panic the adults have forgotten about him, and the boy spends at least an hour alone. When he is remembered and found, it is not by his mother, or any other relative, nanny or aide. The only person who remembered him was a campaign worker of his father's. This man reported that David did not speak and didn't seem to want to move or take his eyes off the tv.
