FREAKS AND GEEKS GONE: Just a couple of weeks after our fave show Freaks and Geeks returned to TV, the show is being yanked for good. The rave reviews critics gave the '80s dramedy about high school outcasts didn't help it attract many viewers. (We really hope you're not guilty of ignoring this primetime jewel!) Not only is NBC about to ruin our Monday nights, but they're not wasting any time doing it. While there are still six unaired episodes, the net is cancelling the show immediately and replacing it with news magazine Dateline NBC. Let's hope that DreamWorks, which produced the series, will shop it around elsewhere. But executive producer Judd Apatow admitted the unlikeliness of that on the show's website. "It's a long shot," he said. "If we fail, just keep watching Nickelodeon or MTV. The reruns will be on before you know it." At least the unlucky show has a chance of gaining a cult following similar to My So-Called Life. But we think this depressing turn of events really says something about the state of TV these days
