Take Hwy 169 South to Hwy 19 North (to Henderson) turn
right (North) on County Road 6 (Minnesota Scenic Byway). The church will
be about 6 miles out of town on your left.
FROM SOUTH:
Hwy 169 North to Hwy 93 (to Henderson). At go straight through
the first stop sign and continue on to church (it will now be county road
6)
About the church
St. Thomas Catholic Church is located in the township of Jessenland, one
of the oldest Irish settlements in Minnesota. Legend has it that the
original settlers of the area felt the lush, rolling green hills
closely resembled those of their homeland. Built in 1870, the church
building is listed in the National
Register of Historical Places and is
located along an official Minnesota Scenic Byway. The cemetary lies on a
steep hill just behind the church building and provides and amazing view
of the Minnesota River Valley.
Masses are held every weekend.
