Mistress Guinevere

The LEGEND
Your raven hair now gently blows,
a manifest wind to enclose your sorrow
Your scarlet flower lips inspire
all the fury and desire I know
Velvet white skin luminous
in moonlight weeping down on us
like rainfall Longing in your violet
eyes, a song of melancholy sighs
in vain call

How did I get here lonely Guinevere,
marooned on the other side?
Do you look back through the window too,
and dream of the life we're denied?

Mist enchanted woods beyond,
it almost seems they might go on forever
Is it a place where we might be
liberated, living free together?
But sundered by a glaze veneer,
our voyage ends at this frontier,
for now I'll try to tear holes in the sky,
and leap across to you but I don't know how

How did I get here lonely Guinevere,
marooned on the other side?
Do you look back through the window too,
and dream of the life we're denied?

Without you I'm adrift and lonely,
even though I know you're only...a painting
